Defects in the Spray Width of Spray Gun and the Solutions (Part II)

1. The spray width is curved in a banana shape


Causes: One side of the fan-shaped hole is blocked or deformed, and the air pressure on both sides of the fan-shaped hole is inconsistent; the blockage of the atomization hole causes the air to run to the fan-shaped hole, resulting in the increase of the air pressure in one side of the fan-shaped hole.


Solution: use a special cleaning kit to clean the air cap of the spray gun, and replace the nozzle set if necessary.


2. The humid area of the spray width is inclined to one side


Causes: The fan-shaped hole or atomization hole is blocked or deformed, and the atomized paint tends to one side due to nonuniform airflow; the nozzle is damaged, and the gap between the atomization hole in the center of the air cap and the nozzle is nonuniform, which makes the atomized paint incline to one side.


Solution: use a special cleaning kit to wash the air cap of the spray gun, and replace the spray gun nozzle set if necessary.


3. The spray width is twisted, inclined or S-shaped


Causes: the fan-shaped hole is blocked or deformed, and the diagonal fan-shaped holes on both sides are blocked or deformed, which makes the spray width inclined.


Solution: use a special cleaning kit to clean the air cap, and replace the nozzle set if necessary.


4. The spray width is discontinuous and bouncing


Causes: The nozzle of the spray gun is not tightly installed, the nozzle and the air shunt ring are not completely sealed, and the air runs to the paint pathway; the nozzle or air shunt ring is not thoroughly cleaned, and the paint residue makes the nozzle and air shunt ring not completely sealed; the sealing surface of the air shunt ring is damaged, which affects the seal between the surface and the nozzle; when the vent of the spray gun pot is blocked, the air will be sucked into the paint channel from the nozzle by the vacuum produced in the blockage.


Solution: tighten the nozzle with the original spanner, clean the nozzle with a special cleaning kit, and replace the air shunt ring. Clean the air vent of the spray gun pot and replace it if necessary.
