Causes and Solutions of Spraying Width Defects of Auto Spray Gun

As a commonly used spraying tool, auto spray gun will encounter various use faults in the process of daily use. Many people often tell us that the auto spray gun doesn't work well again. Next, let's talk about the common spray width defects of auto spray gun and the corresponding solutions.


I. Spray width deformation of auto spray gun


Cause: the air hole (fan-shaped hole or auxiliary atomization hole) on the hood is blocked by dry and solidified paint, so that the abnormal air flow deforms the spray width; Incorrect inlet pressure (too high / too low) causes the spray width to be disconnected or too small.


Solution: clean the pores on the spray gun and hood according to the cleaning instructions; Adjust the air inlet pressure of the spray gun to the normal air pressure.


II. The spraying range of the auto spray gun is narrow in the center and large at both ends


Cause: the paint viscosity is too low, and the paint viscosity does not match the spraying air pressure; The spraying air pressure is too high, and the fan-shaped hole air pressure is too high, causing the central depression of the spraying width; The atomization hole is blocked, which makes relatively more air run to the fan-shaped hole and makes the center of the spray width concave.


Solution: adjust the paint viscosity or use a nozzle with appropriate diameter; Adjust the normal air inlet pressure of auto spray gun; Use a suitable cleaning tool to clean the air hole of the hood, and replace the nozzle set if necessary.


III. Defect of spray range of auto spray gun: the paint gathers in the center and the spray range cannot be dispersed


Cause: the spraying air pressure is too low, and the air pressure of fan-shaped hole is too low, which is not enough to press out the fan; The paint viscosity is too high, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole is not enough to press the high viscosity paint into a fan; The nozzle is damaged and the spray width adjustment knob is not opened.


Solution: adjust the normal intake pressure; Adjust the paint viscosity, or use a nozzle with appropriate diameter. If the nozzle is damaged, replace the nozzle sleeve; Check whether the spray width adjustment knob is fully opened.


IV. The spray width of the auto spray gun is banana shaped and curved


Cause: one fan-shaped hole is blocked or deformed, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped holes on both sides is inconsistent; The blockage of atomization hole makes the air flow to the fan-shaped hole, resulting in the increase of air pressure in one side of the fan-shaped hole.


Solution: use a special cleaning kit to clean the hood of the high quality spray gun, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.


V. The wet area in the spray width of the auto spray gun is biased to one side


Cause: the fan-shaped hole or atomization hole is blocked or deformed, and the atomized paint tends to one side due to uneven air flow; The nozzle is damaged, and the gap between the central atomization hole of the hood and the nozzle is uneven, which makes the atomized paint tend to one side.


Solution: clean the hood with a special cleaning kit, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.


VI. The spray width of the auto spray gun is twisted, inclined or S-shaped


Cause: the fan-shaped holes are blocked or deformed, and the diagonal fan-shaped holes on both sides are blocked or deformed, making the spray width inclined.


Solution: clean the hood with a special cleaning kit, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.


VII. The spray width of the auto spray gun is discontinuous and jumps


Cause: the nozzle of the automotive primer spray gun is not tightly installed, the nozzle and the air diversion ring are not completely sealed, and the air runs to the paint passage; The nozzle or air split ring is not clean, and the paint residue makes the nozzle and air split ring unable to be completely sealed; The sealing surface of the air split ring is damaged, which affects its sealing with the nozzle; The vent of the gun pot is blocked, and the blocked vent of the gun pot generates vacuum, which sucks air from the nozzle into the paint channel.


Solution: tighten the nozzle with the original wrench, clean the nozzle with a special cleaning kit, and replace the air shunt ring. Clean the vent hole of the gun pot, and replace the gun pot if necessary.
