How to Choose the Right Spray Gun?

How to Choose the Right Spray Gun?

1. Size and quality of the gravity feed paint spray gun

From the perspective of reducing the labor intensity of the operator, it is hoped that the spray gun is light and small, but the amount of coating and the amount of air is also reduced, the spraying time is increased, and the operation efficiency is reduced, so it is not suitable for a large number of coating occasions. A large spray gun is used to spray small parts or tubular coating, and the coating loss is large. Large-size spray guns can be used for large flat coating, and small-size spray guns can be used for coating with a great difference in unevenness.

2. Coating amount and supply method

If the amount of coating is small, and colors should be changed frequently, gravity feed paint spray gun will be selected, but it is not suitable for spraying on the back; If the amount of coating is large, and more colors should be changed, especially spraying on the side, the spray gun with a can and suction below 1L is more convenient. If the amount of coating is large and the color is almost the same, the pressure spray gun can be selected, and the paint can be supplied by the paint booster tank. When the amount of paint is larger, the paint can be pressed by pumps and paint circulation pipes, which can spray continuously without stopping the operation. A quick change joint is adopted for spraying, which is convenient for cleaning and color change. The pressure spray gun does not have a coating cup or tank, and the spraying is flexible and convenient.

3. Nozzle diameter

In large-scale industrial production, the coating area passing by unit time is large, and the amount of coating is large, so the nozzle diameter of the selected spray gun should be large; When the thickness of the coating film is required to be high or spraying the primer, and the appearance quality of the coating film is not required to be high, the spray gun with larger diameter should be selected. In addition, the spray gun with a larger caliber shall be selected when the construction viscosity of the selected coating is high, while the spray gun with a smaller caliber shall be selected when the low viscosity coating or pressure coating is used. When spraying the topcoat, and coating atomization requirements are high, the spray gun with a smaller caliber should be selected.
