Defects in the Spray Width of Spray Gun and the Solutions (Part I)

As a common spraying tool, the spray gun will encounter various failures in daily use. Some users often complain that the automatic spray gun doesn't work well again. Now TOOL-BAR MACHINERY will tell you about the common defects of the automatic spray gun and the corresponding solutions.

1. The deformation of spray width

Causes: The gas hole (fan-shaped hole or auxiliary atomization hole) on the wind cowl is blocked by dry solid paint, resulting in abnormal air flow and deformation of spray width; incorrect intake pressure (too high / too low) causes the disconnection of the spray width or makes the width too small.

Solutions: clean the gas holes on the spray gun and wind cowl according to the cleaning instructions; adjust the intake pressure to normal pressure.

2. The spray width is narrow in the center but large in both ends

Causes: The paint viscosity is too low, and it does not match with the spraying air pressure; the spraying air pressure and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole are too high, which makes the center of the spraying range concave; the atomization hole is blocked, so that relatively more air runs to the fan-shaped hole, making the center of the spraying width concave.

Solutions: adjust the viscosity of the paint or use a suitable nozzle; adjust the normal intake pressure; use a suitable cleaning tool to clean the air hole of the wind cowl, and replace the nozzle set if necessary.

3. The paint gathered in the center and the spray width can not spread

Reasons: The spraying air pressure and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole are too low to fan out the shape; the paint viscosity is too high, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole is not strong enough to press the high viscosity paint into a fan shape; the nozzle is damaged, and the spray width adjustment knob is not opened.

Solutions: adjust the normal intake pressure; adjust the paint viscosity, or use the nozzle with appropriate caliber. If the nozzle is damaged, replace the nozzle set; check whether the spray width adjustment knob is fully opened.
